Gavin Rossdale has had his share of success, both in his career and in his marriage to Gwen Stefani. But their son, Kingston, is his "greatest triumph."

"This is Kingston," Gavin told "Extra" at the Bank of the West Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic as the toddler crawled onto his lap. "Finally, I got something right.”

Gavin, who sold millions of records with the band Bush, is now preparing for a solo career, much like Gwen.

“I just finished a record that comes out next year," said Gavin. "It’s a solo record.”

With such talented parents, it's no wonder that little Kingston, 1, has an ear for music.

“He was on tour with Gwen, he’d come and watch the show with me with the headphones on," Gavin said. "He’s big on drums."

But how does their toddler handle the constant media attention that surrounds two famous parents?

“We made a conscious decision [to have a child]. We would have a baby and the baby joins our life. We don’t stop for his," Gavin explained. "If we were going to be followed by paparazzi, it doesn’t mean we would leave him home…we don’t take life too seriously.”

Gavin Rossdale joins the Jensens for the inaugural Bank of the West Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic

LUKE AND MURPHY JENSEN TO HOST INAUGURAL BANK OF THE WEST PRO-CELEBRITY TENNIS CLASSIC, DEC. 8, AT THE RIVIERA TENNIS CLUB

Seles, Capriati, Duchovny, Rossdale among tennis, entertainment stars supporting new charity event

Pacific Palisades – Former French Open doubles champions Luke and Murphy Jensen will host the inaugural Bank of the West Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic, Dec. 8, at The Riviera Tennis Club. Nine-time Grand Slam winner Monica Seles, three-time Grand Slam champion and Olympic gold medalist Jennifer Capriati, actor David Duchovny and musician Gavin Rossdale are among the tennis and entertainment stars scheduled to join the Jensens for the event.

Expected to join Seles, Capriati, Duchovny, Rossdale and the Jensens are former UCLA star Justin Gimelstob, former WTA Tour player Carling Bassett-Seguso and Robert Seguso, actors Scott Foley, Donna Mills and Eric Braeden, as well as other stars from sports, television, music and film. The fun-filled day of tennis and an “Evening with the Stars” gala will raise money for a number of Jensen designated youth-oriented charities, including Jensen-Schmidt Tennis Academy for Down Syndrome, the National Down Syndrome Society and The Riviera Foundation.

The Bank of the West Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic gets underway with a tennis pro-am from 9-11:30 a.m. on Dec. 8, followed by a kids’ clinic from 12-1:30 p.m. A pro-celebrity tennis exhibition will be played from 1:30-4:30 p.m. The activities climax with the “Evening with the Stars” gala from 7-11 p.m. at The Riviera Country Club. The gala will feature top entertainment and a live auction.

“I am honored to be asked to co-host the Bank of the West Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic, “said Luke Jensen. “It is going to be a special day and night that will benefit three great causes and we are especially excited to have Monica join us for the event.”

“I’m still a tennis player, but I also have been studying very hard to become an actor, so the fact that I can be a part of an event that will bring tennis players and celebrities together in L.A. is just way too cool,” Murphy Jensen said.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to participate in the Bank of the West Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic along with Luke and Murphy,” said Seles, who was ranked No. 1 in the world in 1991-92.

“At Bank of the West, we have a strong commitment to the communities we serve and especially endorse activities that bring people together to support worthy charitable causes,” said Rick Davis, Southern California Division executive. “We are pleased to sponsor this event to benefit children’s charities.”

About Bank of the West: Founded in 1874, $58.4 billion-asset Bank of the West (http://www.bankofthewest.com/) offers a full range of business, corporate, personal, trust and international banking services and currently operates more than 700 branch locations and commercial banking offices in 19 Western and Midwestern states.

The Jensen Brothers designated youth organizations, including the Jensen-Schmidt Tennis Academy for Down Syndrome, will help meet the sport specific needs of children and young adults with Down Syndrome and other special needs. In addition to meeting sport specific needs, the other designated organizations will use multiple avenues in assisting special needs and disadvantaged children.

C & H Events, Inc., which owns and will operate the Bank of the West Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic, is a full-service event management and marketing company based in Boca Raton, Fla. Please visit www.chevents.com for further details about C & H Events.

“It is very exciting for C & H Events to head west and bring to Southern California the exciting Bank of the West Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic,” C & H Events President Michele Cope said. “We are looking forward to working with Luke and Murphy Jensen as hosts of this charity event, and to forge a strong alliance with our title sponsor Bank of the West and our site host The Riviera Country Club. We’re hoping our hard work will result in some very worthwhile charities receiving generous checks to help children in need.”

For more information on the Bank of the West Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic, phone C & H Events at 888-85-YOUTH. For tickets to the exhibition, phone 877-888-6433.

Gwen and Gavin Take Their Aspiring Athlete to the Park

Kingston Rossdale has been all over the world with his famous mom and dad, but this weekend the family decided to have a typical day at a LA park. Gwen was on stroller duty while Gavin took the opportunity to show his son the ropes of playing catch. From the looks of it Kingston is getting some important coaching tips from his daddy, so we wouldn't be surprised if this little guy turns out to be an athlete as well as a musician (just like dad). If not, it's good to know that his parents are also encouraging him to start reading early — and of course to have a great sense of style (as seen here with his studded belt).

Gwen and Gavin Rossdale headed to a baby shower for Christina with their arms full of presents on Saturday. We already know that Kingston is one of the most stylin' babies on the block and considering their singing mommies have a lot in common (hello red lips!), we're expecting to see the same from Christina's little one. Plus, if Christina's blue-themed party means there's a little boy on the way, maybe we'll get to see some adorable play dates with Kingston in the future.

DELRAY BEACH — The Delray Beach Tennis Center will have a carnival feel this weekend, so fans can be captivated not only by the matches, but by what is lingering outside the stands as well.
Acrobats, pony rides, games, a calypso band and a $2 million Piper Jet on display are all activities organizers hope will help lure locals to The Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic, which begins today and ends Sunday afternoon.

Celebrities and athletes including tennis star Anna Kournikova, comedian Jon Lovitz and British musician Gavin Rossdale are donating their time this weekend to raise money for abused and neglected children in South Florida.
Evert has raised more than $15.6 million since starting the event 18 years ago. This is the event's 10th year at the Delray Beach Tennis Center.
"It's more than good tennis," said Tip Nunn, Chris Evert Charities spokesman. "We're doing this for the kids. It's all for the kids."
The charity tournament is expected to attract more than 8,000 people to the city. Assistant City Manager Robert Barcinski said the city will likely spend about $20,000 this weekend, mostly for overtime for police and parking attendants. The event gives the city national exposure, and hopefully fans in town for the event will want to return for vacations, shopping or simply relaxation, he said.
Besides the celebrity tennis matches, other activities include a motorcycle display, clowns, face painters and performances by groups such as the Miami Heat Cheerleaders and the Florida Atlantic University Marching Band. A Jumbotron screen will provide tennis coverage, a preview of the 2008 Miami Fashion Week and scenic shots of Palm Beach County.

Gwen Stefani's husband Gavin Rossdale gives up holding the baby to pursue film career

By KATIE NICHOLL -

Having a baby, kicking off a world tour, launching a new clothes collection and a perfume... it's been a whirlwind time for singer Gwen Stefani.

Fortunately, husband Gavin Rossdale has been on hand to look after the couple's 17-month-old son, Kingston.

But the 42-year-old former Bush frontman, 38, is getting busy with his own career.

"Gavin decided it was time to do something as well," says my mole.

"He is postponing work on his solo album to take part in a movie, Frost Flowers, alongside Holly Hunter and James McAvoy.

"Gavin is happy to support Gwen in everything she does but also wants to keep busy."

Sex Pistols reunite for raucous LA show
Legendary punks take on star-studded crowd
26.Oct.07 11:10pm
The Sex Pistols played their first show in four years at the legendary Roxy on Los Angeles' Sunset Strip last night (October 25).Original members John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten), Steve Jones, Glen Matlock and Paul Cook gave a raucous hour-long performance for a packed house that included Bush's Gavin Rossdale, Dirty Pretty Things' Carl Barrett, Velvet Revolver and actor and long-time Sex Pistols fan Julian Sands."Hello LA!" boomed Lydon as he took the stage. "You've got the fucking floods, fires and earthquakes and now the Sex Pistols. You ain't doing too bad at all!"The band played classic tracks including 'EMI', 'Submission' and 'God Save The Queen', which whipped the front rows into a mosh-pit frenzy. At one point a woman jumped onstage to hug and kiss Jones, after which Lydon said, "Could the ugly birds stop getting up on stage, it's fucking embarrassing," in traditional punk rock fashion.A scowling Lydon couldn't help smiling throughout the night, soaking in the adoration of the capacity crowd. Things turned confrontational when an audience member drenched him in beer, to which he responded, "I don't tolerate fucking cowards."The band concluded the night with a climactic encore of 'Anarchy In The UK', which ended with Lydon repeating the phrase, "Fuck them all."The private show was the Sex Pistols' only scheduled US date. It was sponsored by LA radio station Indie 103.1, which gave away tickets to a handful of fans to fill the 200-capacity venue. Tickets were reportedly being sold on the internet for as much as $500.The Sex Pistols are set to play several UK dates in November, as previously reported.

Gwen and Gavin caused concerns for minders

Gwen Stefani caused concerns for her minders yesterday when she Gavin and Kingston were late returning from a morning stroll through Brisbane's CBD.

The trio headed off just after 7am and returned some hours later, a good half hour after the 80-strong entourage had checked out of the Sofitel and headed to the airport to catch a 1pm flight to Sydney.

"We're a little late," Gwen said on their return. "We got a little lost. It was great, though."

Gwen and Gavin's trek through Brisbane included the Riverside Craft Markets at Eagle St, where the two enjoyed buying some playpen goodies for their son.

"We bought some toys for Kingston," Gavin said.

Gwen and Gavin have Television problems.

Most people were unaware a singing sensation was in their midst last night but one man will always remember the night he fixed Gwen Stefani's television.
The blonde star, 37, arrived at Auckland Airport from Los Angeles about 6am yesterday for her Sweet Escape Tour show tonight at Vector Arena.
The singer was accompanied by her husband, British rocker Gavin Rossdale, and her 1-year-old son, Kingston.

The Herald visited the Sky City Grand where she was staying with her family last night. Most of the hotel workers refused to talk about Stefani but one doorman, who did not want to be named, told how he got to play handyman.

"When I got to work at 3pm they told me she was in-house and they told me to go to her room and fix her TV," he said.
"When I got in it was her, her husband and her little baby. She was getting a bottle ready for the baby." He apologised to her about her broken TV.
"She was very very nice. She said 'that's fine'."
He spent about six minutes in the room and said although he was nervous he tried to act professionally. Stefani tipped him but the doorman would not say how much.
He said he was a big fan of hers but did not have tickets for the show.

The singer, with baby in tow, paid a visit to Auckland Zoo.
Last night Ticketmaster said sales for the concert had gone well and predicted the show would be a sellout.

How Gavin Rossdale stays in shape while staying out of the gym at all costs

At first glance, Gavin Rossdale may not seem to have much in common with you. The former lead singer of Bush, Rossdale has opened for U2, is recording a second album with his new band, Institute, and is set to appear in his third film, How to Rob a Bank. But under the glam, Rossdale’s quest for fitness is challenged by the same issues we all face: He’s traveling constantly on business; he’s a new dad (he has a 1-year-old baby boy with his wife, Gwen Stefani); and he finds traditional exercise boring. “That whole mouse-on-a-wheel thing, day in and day out, gets monotonous,” he says. Instead, Rossdale has found a way to turn one of his passions, tennis, into a full-body workout. To compensate for all his traveling, Rossdale has a network of hitting partners around the country, and he’s never shy about calling ahead to new clubs to find an opponent. Here’s his program for staying fit.

WARM UP RIGHT
Before playing, Rossdale loosens up by jumping rope for 5 to 10 minutes. Then he stretches his shoulders, back, calves, and ankles (see “In the Stretch” below). Tennis is a short-distance explosive game, and being quick to the ball is everything. If you’re not warm, it’s these quick movements that can blow out a muscle. After stretching, Rossdale rallies from the baseline.

MIX IN EXTRA CARDIO
To boost the aerobic workout factor of tennis, between matches Rossdale mixes in hitting sessions, where rallies may go on for several minutes and breaks are much more sporadic. First, he hits stationary crosscourt forehands and backhands for 5 minutes each; then he repeats both down the line for 5 minutes. Next, he pounds out 10 minutes of ground strokes on the run, always returning to the center line before the next shot. Afterward, he moves to the net for volleys. He builds quickness by hitting a volley immediately followed by an overhead that forces him to wheel backward, followed by a short volley that brings him back to the net. In matches, this instinct to move toward the net while in no-man’s land cuts down the angles his opponent can use for a passing shot.

CHALLENGE YOUR MUSCLES
Playing with a variety of opponents, in addition to local pros on the road, forces Rossdale to adapt constantly and improve his game—and his body—to handle different styles of play. One day, he’ll be serving and sprinting to the net, working his fast-twitch muscles; another day, his workout will be more cardio-based as he endures brutal baseline rallies. Rossdale enjoys the challenge of change so much that he doesn’t even have a favorite surface to play on. “All these destabilizing factors make me a better tennis player,” says Rossdale. They also make him a fitter, less stressed-out father.

Email from Gavin to fans

Hey everyone
It's been some time. how are you?

I wanted to let you know what I have been working on and what's happening.
First off-
I am setting up my new website at Gavinrossdale.com (not live yet but coming very soon)

And I am about to go in and record my first solo record.
I am working with the producer bob rock.

We have a great band to do the record and we start next week.

We'll do half the record in la and the other half in hawaii, where he lives-on the north shore.

So as you can imagine I'm pretty excited about that.

I have spent all of last year writing-and
Here goes.

I have also done the theme for a new show on fox
Which starts on sunday called
DRIVE (8pm est/pst)
That song will be on the record and a taste of what's to come.

I know I've taken silence to a new quiet but
You knew I was up to something.

Kingston is magic by the way.

So-
Check out the new song-
Obviously it is only a small part of it but
You'll get the vibe.

Otherwise
We're going to be getting the website going.

And we'll be making big sound.
Thankyou to all of you who came out and supported INSTITUTE-
I really enjoyed being in that band.

Chris is making this record with me.

Stay tuned

more power to you

Gavin

Glam rockers dine out in style

GWEN STEFANI and hubby GAVIN ROSSDALE must have co-ordinated their wardrobes before going out to an oyster bar.
Singer Gwen’s stripey jacket matched her rocker hubby’s scarf as they braved gales and rain to hit trendy eaterie Scott’s in London’s Mayfair.

Out on the town ... Gavin and Gwen. Inset, Gary BarlowPictures: GREG BRENNANAnd they weren’t the only celebs enjoying the clam glam. At the next table I spotted MICK JAGGER with friends.TAKE THAT star GARY BARLOW was also in, treating his mum to dinner – and oddest pairing of the night was KEVIN SPACEY and JIMMY TARBUCK, chatting at a table hosted by Topshop boss Sir Philip Green.LEE CHAPMAN and LESLIE ASH also stuck their heads around the door for a nose.It seems Scott’s is the new Ivy for celebrity diners. GEORGE MICHAEL, GERI HALLIWELL and DANIEL CRAIG have all visited recently, too.
